Broncos can win it from anywhere in the 8: Bennett

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett says finishing outside the top four isn’t the end of the world and that the Broncos can win the NRL premiership from anywhere in the 8.

The Broncos defeated Sydney Roosters at Suncorp Stadium last night 24-14 with hooker Andrew McCullough starring.

“We’ve done a lot of things right so it’s good to have momentum heading into the finals,” Bennett said.

“Top four isn’t life or death. We’ve won premierships here from outside the top four. The important part is to be playing well.”

Bennett also paid tribute to the Roosters who had nothing go their way in season 2016.

“They came here to play. The Roosters have beaten some quality teams throughout the year,” he added.

“They had a disastrous start to the season that they haven’t been able to recover from.

“In saying that, they’ve played with a lot pride towards the end of the season.”
