St George Illawarra has announced the signing of Canberra prop Paul Vaughan on a three-year deal and joins the Dragons immediately.

Vaughan spent a major part of 2016 playing Intrust Super Premiership Cup for Canberra’s feeder club Mounties.

“I’m very happy to be joining the Dragons who have such a rich history and looking forward to starting the pre-season alongside my new teammates,” said Vaughan.

“The focus now is training hard over the coming months to establish myself within a very strong forward pack and playing my role within the squad.”

Meanwhile South Sydney has announced the re-signing of hooker Damien Cook and will be with the Redfern franchise until the end of 2019.

His extension ends speculation he was on his way to Cronulla to replace the retired Michael Ennis.
