Curtis Woodward and Keith Robert Payne were at a monsoonal Leichhardt Oval on Saturday for the Top 8 Intrust Super Premiership clash between Wests Tigers and the Penrith Panthers.
You could have expected a tight, rugged, forwards battle in torrential rain and strong winds but it was anything but with both sides willing to play plenty of attacking footy.
James Segeyaro and Nathan Cleary were late scratchings for the visitors while Curtis Sironen also missed for Wests Tigers.
It was a nightmare start for Wests prop Jordan Grant who spilt the ball on the second play of the game with the Panthers taking advantage soon after.
The Panthers then finished the half the way they started it crossing on the half-time siren to take a 18-16 lead into the break.
It was all the Panthers in the second half with props Andy Saunders and Moses Leota playing big minutes and paving the way for the mountain men.
Curtis and Keith couldn’t separate the pair post-match and awarded the Wests Ashfield Man of the Match to both players.
The Panthers eventually ran out winner 42-24.
