Baptiste wants to stay in Canberra but may head elsewhere for more time

Canberra’s backup dummy half Kurt Baptiste wants more minutes and despite being keen to stay in the nation’s capital he may be forced out with Englishman Josh Hodgson firmly entrenched in the starting side.

The Raiders have offered Baptiste a new two year deal but there’s a strong chance he could find himself at a new club before long.

“I’m keen to stay,” Baptiste told Fox Sports.

“I’m not getting as much minutes as I would like but that’s my role in the team.

“It’s one of my goals to be a starting hooker eventually and I need to look where the opportunities are and if that happens to be another club, that’s what it is but at the moment I’m happy at the Raiders.”
