Shock QLD Maroons debutant for Game I of the 2025 series Robert Toia is ready to mark-up on one of the biggest names in the game in Latrell Mitchell at Lang Park.
The Roosters rookie has had an impressive start to the NRL season, but his Maroons coach Billy Slater has every confidence in the world in the centre.
“I’ve looked up to him,” Toia said of Mitchell.
“He’s an unbelievable player, very strong and he’s got it all, but I’m ready to do my job.”
Slater was full of praise for Toia – a teen prodigy from QLD.
“Although playing on the centres is man-on-man out there, it is a system.”
Slater was confident the “system player” Toia was good enough to shut down Latrell and a star-studded NSW backline.
