Legendary coach Wayne Bennett has backed the NRL and says the game did the right thing in moving the Dolphins versus South Sydney blockbuster to Sydney as Cyclone Alfred prepares to his South-East Queensland.
Unlike the AFL – who postponed two games – the NRL shifted their Friday night blockbuster to CommBank Stadium in Parramatta.

“No, they’ve done the right thing,” Bennett said when quizzed on the matter on Thursday.
“It’s important, [it] is important to everybody involved in the game, the fans, TV stations, all the people that support the game.
“We go back there and play our home game [at Redcliffe] later in the year so it works out for them as well.
“I think it’s a great decision.”
Bennett is now back at the Rabbitohs after coaching the Dolphins for the last couple of seasons.
“They’ll handle it, they got on a plane yesterday, they’ve got 17 guys who will be keen as anything to play.
“They are a wonderful club… I was proud of my time there with them and they will do their best with whatever they put on the field.”
