Former Queensland captain Cameron Smith has warned Brisbane Broncos and their fans not to get ahead of themselves despite an undefeated 4-0 start to the season.
The Broncos are sitting pretty in first place but crashed out of the 2022 premiership and missed the finals after a strong start to the year.
“They’re sitting top of the table at the moment, if they continue on their little path that they’re on, you’d like to think they could stay there,” Smith said on SEN.
“It wasn’t that long ago – six rounds to go in last year’s season and I know they had a couple of things go against them last season… an injury to Herbie Farnworth, Patrick Carrigan got that four or five-week suspension for the hip drop, that’s when their season went downhill.”
The Broncos host cellar dwellers Wests Tigers this weekend.
