Under siege NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley has thanked support of several former Blues captains ahead of the deciding Game III at Suncorp despite another frustrating series for NSW fans.
Daley has also come under intense scrutiny from sections of the media after the Blues got away with a narrow win against as 12-man Maroons in Game I before being blown off the park at the MCG in Game II.
“To have support is great because everyone needs it at times,” Daley told media on Monday.
“To receive support is always great because it’s a lonely space at times.
“To have people supporting you and being in your corner gives you confidence and strong belief, and you know you’ve got people behind you, which is good to know.
“A lot of our ex-players are supporting us and we know there’s a lot of support from the state behind us and our players feel that and know that.”
It is expected Daley will step down whether NSW win Game III or not.
