The Michael Maguire versus Kevin Walters feud has taken another turn with Kangaroos coach Walters signaling he wants Te’o as an assistant coach for Australia at the World Cup.
Teo sensationally quit the Broncos and Maguire’s coaching staff just weeks into the new season amid reports of a rift between Maguire and Te’o.
Some in the media, who are pro-Walters, have spent the last few weeks verbally bashing the under siege premiership-winning boss.
“He’s certainly in my sights,” Walters told the Wide World of Sports on Tuesday night.
“I’d like to have him on the staff, he’s a very good young coach. I like his personality as well… he’s not too heated and he’s very calm around situations from what I’ve seen.
“He would be a good addition to the group if we can make that happen.”
