Wayne Bennett’s South Sydney Rabbitohs have received a hammer blow with The Courier Mail reporting star five-eighth Cody Walker will miss the remainder of the season.
The experienced playmaker was set to return from a calf injury for the 16th-placed Bunnies in their showdown with the defending champions, Penrith on Friday night.
However, it is understood Walker has reinjured the calf and won’t play any part in the remainder of South Sydney’s campaign.
The Rabbits are currently three wins outside the top 8 and sit just two points clear of the wooden spoon.
