Parramatta Eels skipper Clint Gutherson says his side is embracing grand final week and the incoming blockbuster showdown against arch rivals Penrith in the NRL grand final on Sunday.
Speaking at the NRL Fan Fest on Thursday, Gutherson complimented the club’s supporters which mirrored what was happening in Penrith with Panthers supporters.
“It’s exciting, Ivan (Cleary) said before you sort of get a glimpse of what it means to them, both teams had a great show out at their open training session again today,” Gutherson said.
“We will probably see it again tomorrow and it will start amping up again, we’re just looking forward to it and it’s going to be a great week.
“We saw after the game (grand final qualifier) at the leagues club… there was people burning things and had drums, it’s great for the game, it’s the heartland of rugby league out here and it’s going to be chaos all week.”
