Nelson Asofa-Solomona is not changing a thing about how he plays the game of rugby league which sets up an eye-watering showdown with one of the form props in the NRL – fellow New Zealand International Joseph Tapine and Samoan veteran Josh Papali’i this weekend at AAMI Park.
Asofa-Solomona has not backed away from some heavy duty showdowns in recent weeks including brutal battles with the Sydney Roosters and Parramatta Eels.
“My job on the field is pretty simple – it’s to run hard, tackle hard and to be aggressive, to bring that physical presence and that’s what I try to bring in every game,” the giant prop told AAP.
“I’m not going to shy away from it, I’m not going to go away from it because that’s just who I am as a player.
“But if you really got to know me off the field as a person, if you sat down with me one on one and just really got to know me, you’d get to know the real Nelson who is pretty much the opposite of what you see on the field.”
