The New Zealanders have named their Four Nations squad with new coach David Kidwell selecting five new faces in his team including Canberra’s Jordan Rapana.
New Zealand will also play Australia in a one-off test in Perth before flying out for the Four Nations tournament in England.
Kidwell has also re-named Jesse Bromwich as captain ahead of Simon Mannering.
“Jesse did a great job leading the team earlier this year in Simon’s absence and, at this stage of his career, I think Simon is just as happy not having the weight of captaincy on him,” Kidwell said.
“Ultimately, they will both be part of a strong leadership group that set a strong culture for this team.”
