North Queensland legend Johnathan Thurston had just finished an interview with Today on Thursday morning when he spotted a shark lurking in the shallows of the beach.

Thurston, like the big kid he is, runs down to the water’s edge to get a closer look.

The Cowboys play the Cronulla Sharks on Monday night.
