Storm experience to help Arthur get Parra players through cap turmoil

If anyone can deal with a salary cap scandal it’s Parramatta coach Brad Arthur.

The Eels mentor now has the job of getting his players back on the job and if anyone can do it he can.

Arthur was part of the coaching staff in 2010 when the Storm were hit with their own salary cap scandal.

Melbourne Storm legend Matt King told Fox Sports that Storm coach Craig Bellamy took a hard line stance with his players.

“He went back to an old-school approach, he told the players it’s a job and if you weren’t performing at your job potentially you might get sacked, and they were still getting paid really well to do what they loved,” King said.

“If you looked at it from that angle life wasn’t that bad – they were still playing footy, getting paid well to do something they loved.”
