Kieran Foran has poured cold water on the referee contact situation which turned its attention to the Parramatta skipper this week after he too was charged by the match review committee for touching the back of an official.

“I had no idea and I’m being completely honest,” Foran told the Big Sports Breakfast.

“I came off the field and our media guy said ‘you know you touched the ref?’ and I said ‘when?’”.

“I understand they’ve come out heavy and said they don’t want contact with the ref but there’s got to be some common sense.”

Foran also said halves partner Corey Norman was a priority re-signing for the club.

“As a club, I know the Eels are 100% keen to keep him.

“They’ll be doing everything they can to keep him in their colours.”
