Roosters victory just around the corner according to Cordner

Injured Sydney Roosters forward Boyd Cordner says the club’s best isn’t too far away and a victory could come as early as this week.

The tri-colours were smacked 40-0 last weekend and are 0-3 to start the season.

“With all the new players we have cohesion is going to take time, which is only natural” Cordner wrote for foxsports.com.au.

“They might be still young, but we’re not about making excuses.

“The best sign is that everyone is still really positive. We know if we keep working hard it will turn around for us.

“In tough times like this you need your leaders to step up.

“It’s not an ideal time for us at the moment and it hasn’t been an ideal start to the year but I truly believe we can turn it around, starting this week.”

The Roosters play Manly on Saturday night at Allianz Stadium.
