Fifteen players with State of Origin experience set for Adelaide grudge match

Sports-loving fans in South Australia will get a preview of what they can expect when State of Origin comes to the Adelaide Oval in 2020 as the Sydney Roosters prepare to face Melbourne in a Friday night blockbuster.

A massive fifteen players will take the field for the clash with Origin experience including 8 from Sunday night’s Origin II in Sydney.

The biggest storyline though is Cooper Cronk’s first ever meeting against the Storm where he played for over a decade.

Legendary fullback Billy Slater is a chance of missing the match due to a hamstring injury he took into the second Origin.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy will make a decision in the coming days.

“He played a strong 80 minutes but his first 20 or 30 were outstanding,” Bellamy said.

“He seemed to have pulled up okay, especially after a hamstring injury but it is not long after the game either.

“We have been on the conservative side with him so we will stay on that if we have to but if he can play through the 80 minutes we will play him.”

Both sides sit on 20 premiership points heading into round 16.
