Australia and England battled out arguably the most grueling World Cup Final in history with the Kangaroos eventually holding on 6-0.
Both teams gave everything with the game in the balance to the last second.
But some on Twitter noticed a little moment just after the final siren showing Australian prop Aaron Woods rubbing salt into English wounds by provoking their fans in a rather unsportsmanlike moment – picked up by our own Curtis Woodward:
That's pretty poor from Aaron Woods #RLWC2017

James Graham left everything on the field and then gets called out for saying something in the heat of the moment when emotions are high, nothing but respect! But seeing Aaron Woods after the game cursing at the English fans is nothing but shameful! pic.twitter.com/56VsXPkfag

Vain Holmes and Sharon Woods carried on like pork chops in the final minute of this game. I was embarrassed to support Australia with those two and Josh @Josh_Dugan playing for them. #rlwc2017 #nationalpride

Best game of rugby league I have seen in a long while! Credit to @England_RL for a mammoth effort. Lack of respect shown by Aaron Woods at the end lacked class after @Kangaroos won the @RLWC2017

@aaronwoods11 you sir are an arrogant dick. You celebrate like an idiot and are embarrassing all Australian’s. @5TopicsOfLife
