Rugby league Immortal and New South Wales icon Andrew Johns says Canterbury’s incumbent Blues halves pairing Trent Hodkinson and Josh Reynolds don’t deserve their spots.
Speaking on Triple M’s Rush Hour, Johns backed Sydney Roosters’ playmaker Mitchell Pearce to regain his place.
“There’s some players from the Bulldogs who are horribly out of form,” Johns said.
“I’m terrified of the form of the NSW halves [Reynolds and Hodkinson].
“I don’t know what Laurie Daley is going to do there.
“On yesterday’s performance you could not pick them.”
Johns then backed Pearce to take over the halfback spot and Greg Bird or Josh Dugan to play as a makeshift five-eight.
