Broncos big man focused on reclaiming spot in top 17

A brutally honest Joe Ofahengaue says he lost his first grade spot at the Brisbane Broncos last season because he got comfortable.

The talented big man has a huge opportunity to cement a position in the top 17 with the retirement of Corey Parker and Jarrod Wallace joining rivals Gold Coast Titans.

“Last year I started losing my feet and then lost my bench spot,” he said.

“Everyone stepped up and seeing that I know I can’t get comfortable, and really have to work my butt off to stay in that team.

“I was pretty hard on myself last year and put the blame on myself.

“In the off-season I sat back and reflected on what I need to do.

“I need to stay hungry this year, really concentrate on the week ahead instead of getting comfortable.

“This year I am showing a bit more ‘want.”
