The Toronto Wolfpack went within six points of a huge upset in their first preseason match – eventually going down to Challenge Cup champions Hull FC 26-20 at KCOM Stadium in England.
The strong performance was made even more impressive by the fact that English heavyweights Hull FC had already played two games leading into the historic encounter.
Wolfpack trailed 20-12 at the break but couldn’t run down the home side who held on for the win.

Australian five-eigth and former Illawarra Cutter Blake Wallace scored the Wolfpack’s first try after eleven minutes before Fui Fui Moi Moi crossed for Toronto’s second.
Albert Kelly and Liam Watts were standouts for Hull FC with Mahe Fonua (two tries) and Kelly grabbing tries.
Toronto dragged it back to 20-20 but a try to Hull FC with twenty minutes to play sealed the win.
