St George Illawarra and Gold Coast legend Luke Bailey has slammed the NRL’s Ambassador program.

Posting to his Facebook account, the retired Australian prop says he applied for a position within the program but was “brushed”.

A number of fellow retired legends backed Bailey including Kevin Campion and John Simon.

“Gotta stress my disappointment with NRL ambassador program . Some how my application was sent late to me so my response was late so I got brushed” Bailey said.

“15 years in the game without a blemish and you become a number in HR apparently . Wouldn’t normally bother me but there is a whole lot of recent negatives going on in the game . Thought they would need all the help they can get . Obviously not.”

Campion replied, “Join the queue mate” while Simon was more forthcoming with his appraisal of the NRL.

“I am not surprised Luke. I saw those positions advertised but CBF applying because I know how it works. The prerequisites were quite clear and although you are more than qualified unless you are in the click [siq] you’re no chance.”
