North Queensland captain Johnathan Thurston has hit back at Newcastle enforcer Beau Scott after Scott was cleared of a lifting tackle that left Thurston dazed last Saturday night.

“I was a little bit suprised considering they have ‘Rise For Alex’ on their jerseys,” Thurston told Fairfax.

“They flipped me and put me in a dangerous position.

“..He has got me a few times.

“I think a lot of teams are wary that it’s in Beau Scott’s game.”
