Legendary five-eight Brad Fittler has heralded Melbourne pivot Blake Green as the missing link that has helped the Storm into the preliminary final.
Despite losing Billy Slater earlier in the season, young fullback Cameron Munster and Green have stepped up and the new looking Storm spine could be in a grand final after Saturday night’s clash against North Queensland at AAMI Park.
“The defence is in front of Cronk, in front of Cameron (Smith), in front of Munster now and in front of (Will) Chambers on the other side,” Fittler told sportsfan.com.au.
“The key to his job, it is to recognise when the defence isn’t in front of him and take advantage of it.
“The big thing is he has Cameron Smith’s respect so that when he does call the ball, Cameron doesn’t think and just gives it to him with the understanding that there is a better opportunity there.”
Meanwhile flying winger Marika Koroibete says he’s still a chance of playing on Saturday despite an ongoing Achilles injury saying “It’s getting better every day.”
