Parker Good to go For Preliminary Final

Hamstrung Brisbane legend Corey Parker says his ongoing injury concerns aren’t as bad as first though and the weekend off will help the lock as the Broncos prepare for Week Three against either the Sydney Roosters or Canterbury Bulldogs.

“It was OK. I have the week off now, so that helps,’’ Parker said.

“I wouldn’t have taken the field if there was any jeopardy involved in playing.

“I’d assume it’s important for us to have a normal training week this week, otherwise you can get away from things that have been working.

“We came to this game (against North QLD) with no anticipation of what was going to happen after this week. It’s yet to be decided.’’

Meanwhile, Broncos half Ben Hunt hopes the Roosters and Bulldogs destroy each other this weekend before the preliminary final in Brisbane the following weekend.

“I hope they bash each other up a bit,’’ Hunt said.

“They are two of the best sides in the competition. They both have big forward packs.”
