The exciting FootyTown app has officially launched on the App Store with Apple users waiting patiently since the app was originally released on Google Play back in March.
FootyTown allows you to tour Sydney and discover the cities long and amazing history where the city and rugby league have danced since the early 1900s.

In March, the app was launched with 700 locations but is currently headed toward 1200.
With your location on as you travel through Sydney, the app shows you in real-time, locations close-by and routes you there.

Many colourful players and nefarious characters of Sydney’s underworld feature heavily but also includes important historical information about famous games, icons and the clubs that built the sport the Sydney.
“There was a decision to stagnate the launches on Google Play and Apple,” FootyTown creator and founder of the 81stminute.com Curtis Woodward said.
“To try and keep some momentum and drag out the launch as long as possible.
“There are so many more locations to add and so many more stories.
“We’re also hoping to be shortlisted for the 2026 State Library awards which are coming up soon, as well.
“A lot of my mates use Apple so they’ve been into me about FootyTown only being on Google Play. It was nice to get a message today from one of them, saying, “I was just at Reg Gasnier’s old home.
“That’s pretty cool.”
