Troubled Tigers Prop Arrested

Wests Tigers prop Matt Lodge has been stood down by the club again after being arrested and charged with six counts of assault, malicious damage and stalking against his partner.

The troubled 20-year-old has been in trouble in the past including involvement in the Fifita brothers’ junior league saga and having the vulgar word ‘c***’ written in large capitals on his wrist tape in a nationally televised Under 20’s State of Origin.

He has also been previously released by the Melbourne Storm.

The Tigers released a statement Friday morning.

“Wests Tigers have been advised this morning of an incident involving Matthew Lodge” the statement reads.

“The Club is currently working with the NRL Integrity Unit to acquire details of the incident.

“Lodge has been stood down until the Club and NRL Integrity Unit receive all the facts.

“The Club will make no further comment at this time.”

Despite his talent, Lodge had been named on the bench for the Tigers’ VB NSW Cup team this weekend.
