Rabbitohs Crowned World Champions

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are officially the World Champions after destroying European champions, St Helens, in a dominant display that had even the hardiest of Super League supporters applauding the Rabbitohs juggernaut.

On the back of the NRL Premiership in late 2014, Souths are primed for a premiership defence after already securing the Auckland Nines and Charity Shield in recent weeks but this was the big one and didn’t they deliver.

George Burgess was named Man of the Match in a seven try romp that was completed when Adam Reynolds slotted a field goal to make it 39-0, a World Club Challenge record.

Souths went to the break up 24-0 and were never headed after opening the scoring in the third minute.

Rabbitohs 39 (Glenn Stewart, Dylan Walker, Greg Inglis, Joel Reddy 2, Luke Keary, Chris McQueen, tries; Adam Reynolds 5 goals, Adam Reynolds 1 field goal) Defeated St Helens 0 @ Langtree Park, Crowd: 17,980.
