Rugby league legend Brad Fittler the has come out in support of the NRL’s tough stance against shoulder charges including the ban to Willie Mason for his innocuous hit on Tom Burgess which landed the Manly veteran a suspension.
“Danger comes with shoulder charges and I’m on their side,” Fittler told sportsfan.com.au.
“I’m going to miss some of the collisions, but the paradigm has changed.
“The Willie Mason one is very severe but I am sure they are finding good reasoning to give him the three weeks. That is just the way it is, we want to get it out of the game and get more kids playing the game and if that works it is a good, strong decision by the NRL.”
