Sydney Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary has revealed it was head coach Trent Robinson who first suggested a move to Catalans Dragons in the Super League for 2025 after announcing his retirement from the NRL in April.

Keary is out of retirement and will play in France in 2025.

“Once I had the chat one thing led to another and it happened pretty quickly and I feel good about the decision,” Keary said.

“There’s a few Roosters boys who have paved the way for myself to go over there.

“There’s a couple of boys to lean on and Robbo’s got a really good relationship with everyone over there so the family’s really excited about it.”

Robinson has a strong relationship with Catalans coach Steve MacNamara who previously worked with the Roosters under Robinson.
