New South Wales captain Paul Gallen says he’s ready to go Origin III next Wednesday night at Suncorp Stadium despite worries about a rib injury he picked up at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Origin II.
“It’s feeling okay though and I’m not in any doubt, I’ll be on the field,” said Gallen.
“I’ll be able to train from day one but I’ll stay out of contact for as long as I can.
It’s getting better but from what I’ve been told, I’ve never had a serious rib injury before, it’s going to hang around for a long time so I’ll just keep doing my best.
“Once you get out on the field it doesn’t matter if you’re six per cent or 100, you have to do your job and there are no excuses once you get out there.
“If I’m on the field I’ll be at 100 per cent.”
