Premiership-winning halfback Brett Kimmorley believes the Gold Coast Titans can emulate what the young Penrith Panthers did in 2020.

The Titans come into 2021 with high expectations after an aggressive recruitment campaign to go with a rising pool of talent already at the club.

“They can be similar to Penrith of last year,” Kimmorley told SEN.

“I think the coach is really good… the club’s finally in order.

“They’ve recruited well in the right positions.

“I think it’s really promising for the Titans.

‘Win three or four more titles in the next ten years’: Why should Craig Bellamy ever leave the Melbourne Storm?

“Hopefully they live up to the hype.”

The Panthers went on a fairytale run to the minor premiership and the grand final before going down to the Melbourne Storm at Stadium Australia.

Gold Coast start their season on Saturday against the Warriors.
