The NRL and the English Super League have reportedly had initial discussions about the NRL buying an equity stake in the Super League.

Britain’s Sky News broke the news that have been in talks this week but nothing official has been tabled yet.

Sources said that a stake of 50% would cost the NRL upwards of $135 million.

It is believed Super League’s Robert Elstone and the NRL’s Andrew Abdo have been in contact and discussions would continue next week.
