Little legend Quaden Bayles will lead the Indigenous All Stars out onto CBus Stadium on Saturday night after a heartwarming invitation from the team on Thursday.
Bayles, just nine years old, had been bullied so badly at his school that a video posted on Facebook by his mother showed him mutter the words, “Give me a knife – I want to kill myself”.
The Facebook video has been viewed by over five million people and shared over 120,000 times and in it Quaden’s mum says: “I’ve just picked my son up from school, witnessed a bullying episode, rang the principal, and I want people to know – parents, educators, teachers – this is the effect that bullying has.”
The NRL was quickly into action with the Indigenous side inviting Quaden to run out with the side.
