The Toronto Wolfpack, Super League’s newest addition, have confirmed their interest in taking rugby league games in the future to such places as Dublin, Copenhagen and Florida.

Rugby league’s hottest ticket recently defeated Featherstone to win the 1 million pound game in front of a sellout crowd in Toronto to qualify for the 2020 Super League season.

Due to the blistering cold winter months in Canada however, the Wolfpack will be on the road up until around mid-April next year.

Wolfpack CEO Bob Hunter saw that as an opportunity to promote Toronto and the sport.

“We’re talking about a double-header with a Super League team in England and major European cities too,” Hunter said.

“We may even do training sessions in Florida for a couple of weeks – who knows, maybe even a Super League game in Florida.

“It’s possible but we’re not totally sure yet. We haven’t nailed down the details but we hope to do our bit and spread the sport as much as we can.”

Recent NRL departures will see the likes of James Maloney, Gareth Widdop and George Burgess travel to Toronto for away clashes in 2020.
