Kiwi Prime Minister Jacinda Adern says the Manly versus Warriors match in Christchurch on Saturday is an “important part of recovery” as the city continues to mourn the 50 people shot dead at a Mosque two weeks ago.
“When it comes to that NRL match, the ability to come together in times like this, to be able to form a community, whether it’s around sport or anything else – I think is an important part of recovery,” Ms Ardern said.
There will be a heightened police presence at the game says the PM.
“Safety is our priority and a focus.”
