Penrith Panthers superstar Nathan Cleary could be re-signed at the club within a matter of months.
The champion halfback has been linked to a switch to rugby union or a possible move to England to be closer to girlfriend Mary Fowler.

But according to The Western Weekender’s Masked Panther, the club at the foot of the mountains are hopeful of snapping Cleary up long-term.

“In fact, there’s even some suggestions Penrith hasn’t given up hope of doing a deal before November to fend off any potential rivals. Nathan and his partner Mary Fowler are deeply committed to their respective sports,” he said.
“There’s talk both are comfortable to extend their current long distance set-up by at least another couple of years.
“Watch this space, things may ramp up quicker than first thought.”
