Legend says Darren Lockyer’s London Broncos could become feeder club to NRL powerhouse

Rugby league great Matthew Johns believes the London Broncos will become a feeder organisation for the NRL’s Brisbane Broncos after club legend Darren Lockyer recently bought the English team.

Jason Demetriou has since been announced as the new head coach as they look to return to the Super League.

“The original London Broncos, the way they were set up, was to be a feeder team to the Brisbane Broncos,” Johns told SEN 1170.

“All the Broncos’ best young players weren’t playing in the local leagues or under-21’s.

“The Broncos wanted them to play against men so they sent them over to play for the London Broncos.

“They were an off shoot of the Brisbane Broncos and that’s what I think they should do.”

Meanwhile under siege Sydney Roosters veteran Victor Radley has finally spoken to the media after being caught in a drug texting exchange with former teammate Brandon Smith.

“I’m embarrassed and never want to be in this position again,” Radley told The Daily Telegraph.

“I made the people I love feel like shit.

“I have to stand up, be a man and move forward.”
