Penrith Panthers enforcer Liam Martin can see similarities between 2025 thus far and his debut season in 2019 where the side made a sluggish start to the year to just miss out on the finals.
Speaking to the Western Weekender, the Kangaroos hardman said the four-straight defending champions weren’t giving up yet.
“That was my debut year and I think my first seven games of NRL I lost,” the second rower said.
“It was a bit of a tumultuous time.
“Thinking back, it was similar to this. We knew what we had was a good thing, but the results weren’t happening.
“I think we just missed out on the eight that year and it’s a long season.
There’s still plenty of football to go, we’ve just got to keep working hard.”
The Panthers play the Brisbane Broncos in Magic Round.
