A rival club is set to make an audacious bid to lure Shane Flanagan away from St George Illawarra Dragons despite completing just his first season in charge of the Red V.

According to Tony “The Mole” Adams, via Wide World of Sports, someone will be contacting Flanagan’s management in “coming weeks to see if there is any interest.”

The Dragons finished just outside the top 8 in 2024.

It is reportedly the rival club’s CEO who is eager to replace their current head coach.

While St George Illawarra will be without Ben Hunt and Zac Lomax next season – the Dragons have picked up Damien Cook, Clint Gutherson, Lachlan Illias and Val Holmes.
