‘You can’t stop in the line’: Premiership-winning captain defends Bunker after Jake Trobjevic controversary

Premiership-winning Cronulla captain Paul Gallen has defend the Bunker after Manly was controversially denied a try in their four-point loss to Parramatta on Sunday.

The Eagles broke clear through the centre of the field via Tom Trbojevic who went on to set up the try – only for the Bunker to intervene after Jake Trbojevic stopped his decoy run in the line.

“I heard everything Gus and Joey said on the [Channel Nine] call yesterday and I absolutely agree with every single part of it,” Gallen said on 100% Footy.

“… Including the part where they said Jake Trbojevic stopped in the line.

“You can’t stop in the line. You just can’t stop in the line.

“Moretti is looking for an excuse there… I have no doubt he’s looking for an excuse.

“I agree with Gus [Gould], he probably doesn’t get there. But the fact is, if Jake Trbojevic completed his job, went through the line like he’s supposed to do, Moretti doesn’t have the opportunity to find an excuse and that is exactly what he found, an excuse, because Jake Trbojevic stopped in the line and we all know you can’t stop in the line.

“It is quite simply not a try.”
