Channel Nine expert and Canterbury Bulldogs boss Phil Gould has doubled down on his thoughts of the South Sydney Rabbitohs after taking a shot at Latrell Mitchell prior to the side’s match against Cronulla in Perth.

The Rabbitohs were outplayed by the struggling Sharks with Souths struggling throughout the eighty minutes.

“If they don’t get the message after the weekend, they’ll never get it,” Gould said on Channel Nine’s 100% Footy.

“Few of us predicted that before it would happen the club was unaware it was coming but we saw it play out in front of us on Saturday night.

“The Sharks led them 26-0 and it was just a high energy team against a very lazy team and they’ve been lazy for a number of weeks. They probably needed to get beaten like that to ram it home to them, to get the message.”

South Sydney face the Dragons in Sydney on Saturday.
