‘First I heard of it was reports in the media’: Billy Slater not sure where Dragons coaching job story came from

The NRL is investigating St George Illawarra’s interchange drama coming out of their loss to Canberra on the weekend where Jacob Liddle started from the bench despite being named in the first XIII which should have cost them one of their 8 subs for the game.

Instead, the Dragons went ahead and used all 8 interchanges during the match.

Meanwhile, Maroons coach Billy Slater has shed light on recent speculation the Dragons had sounded him out to take on the role as new boss of the Dragons replacing Anthony Griffin.

“Yeah little bit strange, first I heard of it was the reports in the media as well, so look whether the Dragons have made contact with my management I’m not too sure but it certainly didn’t get through to me,” he said on his own podcast.
