Braith Anasta calls out Phil “Pinocchio” Gould after Bulldogs boss says he didn’t push Trent Barrett out the door

Premiership-winning Canterbury Bulldogs player Braith Anasta has called out Phil Gould after the Bulldogs boss told media on Monday that Trent Barrett quit and was not going to sack the under siege coach.

Speaking as host of Fox League’s NRL 360, Anasta labelled Gould “Pinocchio in a scathing attack.”

Just two weeks ago, Gould was adamant Barrett was the long-term coach of the Doggies.

“Well, you’re not laughing now Phil after saying that only a couple of weeks ago,” Anasta said on Monday night.

“That’s Pinocchio there. Saying that his job is safe and that he’s going to be there long after Gus.

“He’s telling lies because Barrett’s gone and he’s still there.”
