The Manly Sea Eagles have hinted Tom Trbojevic could be a shock inclusion for the team’s round 23 clash against Canberra Raiders despite early reports he had re-broken his cheekbone in Manly’s big win over Parramatta.

Trbojevic has been in unstoppable form as the Eagles romp toward a top 4 finish to the premiership.

“Full-back Tom Trbojevic also suffered a knock to the cheekbone. Fortunately, the hit was on a plate that he has from a previous fracture which prevented a serious injury from occurring,” the Manly website reported on Sunday.

“Tom has some swelling and bruising around the site. He will be given every chance to prove his fitness for next Friday night’s match against the Canberra Raiders.”

Meanwhile Cronulla veteran Andrew Fifita was taken to a Brisbane hospital after suffering breathing issues during the Sharks’ match against Newcastle.

Fifita was struck in the throat and was treated on the sidelines by paramedics.
