The captain of Penrith’s maiden premiership in 1991 Greg Alexander is set to miss the club’s 30th anniversary celebrations at Panthers Stadium next Friday when the club clashes with the side they beat back on that fateful day – the Canberra Raiders.
Why?
Because according to the Western Weekender, Fox Sports have him scheduled to work from the studio.
The Panthers have reportedly “pleaded” with Fox to allow Alexander to attend the stadium where 20,000 fans are expected to pack in to see two of the premiership-heavyweights clash and celebrate the club’s first ever grand final triumph.
