It appears Israel Folau’s return to rugby league is already over with reports out of France the polarizing star is about to walk out on the Catalans Dragons.

According to a recent article in Midi Olympique, three local rugby union sides are chasing his signature: Bayonne, Montpellier and Toulon.

Folau made waves by linking with the Dragons for the 2020 season – his first in rugby league since 2010.

The outside back was famously sacked by Rugby Australia after several homophobic social media posts.

He played 15 games for the Dragons in Super League last season – scoring five tries.
