‘If you don’t then we’ll put someone else in there’: Former Blues enforcer puts Campbell-Gillard in his place over recent comments

Former New South Wales enforcer Mark Geyer has blasted Reagan Campbell-Gillard over comments made last week by the Parramatta prop that he was questioning if he wanted to play State of Origin after spending most of 2020 in the club’s bubble.

Cambell-Gillard revealed he was struggling away from friends and family and had hesitations about spending over a month in another bubble with NSW.

“…Some of the comments he’s made since then about not really being a fan of going back into a bubble and having a nose operation because he can’t breathe out of it – you either want to play Origin or you don’t,” Geyer said on

“It’s as simple as that.

“Those comments I know will filter back to the coaching staff who will look at them and say ‘look, Reagan, these spots are like hens’ teeth… they are very rare. If you want it, you got it, but if you don’t then we’ll put someone else in there’.”

Brad Fittler confirmed Campbell-Gillard’s selection but it will be interesting to see if the big Eels tyro makes the Blues’ 17 for Game I.
