Parramatta rookie Stefano Utoikamanu has been removed from the club’s COVID-19 bubble after interacting with members of the crowd in Newcastle on Sunday.
Those people will be tested and Utoikamanu will be able to rejoin the Eels ahead of their clash against Manly if they test negative for coronavirus.
“As always we will be guided by the advice of our medical experts,” said NRL head of football Graham Annesley said.
“We will then be in a position to advise the club and the player of any further action or protocol implications.”
It is believed Utoikamanu only spoke to family who had traveled to watch his debut.
